Tech Support - Microsoft Windows 95/98 - Dial Up Settings

Internet Dialer Setup for Windows 95 & 98


Double click the My Computer Icon on your desktop.
Then double click on Dialup Networking
You should now see the following

Double Click the Make New connection icon.
In the top white box clear it out and type in all upper case MLI



Click Next
Here type in the phone number that matches your area.



Click Next



Click Finish
Then with your right mouse button right click on MLI
Then with your left mouse button click on Create Short Cut.



Click Yes



Then with your right mouse button again right click on MLI
Then with your left mouse button click on Properties at the bottom of the list.



Remove the check mark in Use country code and area code.
Note this may be Use area code and dialing rules depending on your version.



Click on the tab at the top labeled Server Types
Then remove all the check marks on the screen except the bottom one TCP/IP



Click OK
Then Double click on MLI
Type in your user name (the login name you chose when you signed up, all lowercase letters)
Type in your password (Passwords are case sensitive)
Check Save password



Click Connect to finish your dialer and store your Username and Password.
