Microsoft Windows 2000 - Standard & Professional Dial Up Settings

Click the Start button, select Settings, then choose Network and Dialup Connections
You should see the following -


Double Click the Make New connection icon.


Click Next


Choose Dialup to the Internet then click Next


Choose I want to set up my Internet connection manually, or I want to
connect through a local area network (LAN).
Click Next


Choose Connect through a phone line and a modem then click Next
Here type in the phone number that matches your area.
Remove the check mark in “Use area code and dialing rules“.


Click the Advanced button below and to the right.


Place a check mark in Disable LCP Extensions press OK
Press Next to advance beyond the phone number screen.
Type in your user name (the login name you chose when you signed up, all lowercase letters)
Type in your password (Passwords are case sensitive)



Click Next
Clear out the Connection name box and type MLI in all caps in the Connection name box.


Click Next
Choose No.


Click Next


Click Finish
Click the “X” in the top right hand corner to close the Network and Dialup Connections Screen. Your computer is now setup to connect to the Internet.
